Keep On Moving!

Well, it's official.  We're moving out of our apartment in about a month, likely into my parents' house.

You're absolutely right.  I would prefer to move into a newly purchased home.  But this may be a great opportunity to save up a little extra money, and to pay down some debt.  And there's still that silly matter of a wedding to attend to.

How did this happen, you ask?  Well you see, we have some friends who were planning to move into our apartment complex at the end of April, but they could only get a one-bedroom apartment.  Obviously not their first choice.  We called about getting out of our lease, should we find a home.  Turns out that if we found someone to move in, things go much more smoothly for us.  So we asked our friends how they liked it, thinking we'd be making our offer on a house today.   And well, that didn't work out.  So rather than leave our friends as disappointed as we are, we're ending the cycle.  And well, it may very well work out better for us in the end anyway.

I'll be so glad when this is all over and I don't have to move for a while!!!!

Things My Sweetie Says (In Her Sleep)

"That's gonna take a lot of giraffes."

Now what on earth do you think she was dreaming about?!

Quality Time

All artists strive for quality in their product.  I am just learning that there is much more availability for quality supplies than I had ever realized.  Yarn was yarn, and fabric from Jo-Ann was just fine. Painting on luan couldn't get better, could it?  Of course it can!  There's natural and hand dyed fibers, fabric that will LAST in the garments, and 1/2 inch medium density fiberboard (MDF) is a dream, I tell you, a DREAM to paint on.  That and cabinet-grade plywood or solid hardwood.  .... I have to stop, I think I'm drooling....

Anyway,  I tracked down a local yarn seller on Etsy.  Check out the Yarn Chef.  I just ordered my first skein, and I should get it early next week, I think.  Also, there is Re! who deals in vintage goods.  Ok, maybe these aren't supplies, but they are stunning, nonetheless!

Wedding Band Shopping

We bought our wedding bands last night!

Classic white gold, no frills, perfect.  I'm glad we got them, too, since the price of gold just spiked.  The store hadn't finished their re-pricing.  In other words, we got a great deal!

Listen to this:
We bought them at a Fred Meyer - inside a Kroger.  That means we got these added bonuses:

  • care plan, including free resizing, polishing, and rodium dipping for as long as we have the rings.
    • Rodium is what makes the white gold white.
  • big discount
  • Kroger fuel points.  Really.  I'm totally taking advantage of that!
The girl who helped us out had different colored eyes.  She said people she knows don't even notice.

Anyway, in light of the fact that we haven't done anything else the traditional way, we've decided to go ahead and wear the rings.  The size 10 I got is actually a teensy bit too big, so I might be taking advantage of that care plan!

Overal Experience: completely satisfying!
